  1. Why should I use Luminari?

    Luminari helps you keep your ear to the ground on the job market without having to do any work. We give you a feed of relevant jobs all the time while protecting your identity. Plus, you will get access to CPA volunteer positions, exclusive networking events, and awesome content.

  2. But I’m not looking for a job…?

    No problem! Luminari is designed specifically for you in mind. Even if you don’t think you’ll be moving jobs in the next couple of years, it always pays to know what you’re worth and what opportunities are out there for you.
  3. Is this only for traditional accounting jobs?

    Absolutely not. We have both traditional and non-traditional jobs. We take specific pride in bringing new and interesting opportunities to CPAs, including ones you may not have previously considered.
  4. Is Luminari a recruiter?

    No, we don’t get a commission when you get hired. Our sole purpose is to help companies and people find the right fit for each other. We won’t harass you at the office but, we're always around if you want to chat!
  5. How much does it cost?

    Nothing! Being a member is free and always will be.

  7. Is Luminari just for job opportunities?

    Not at all, Luminari goes far beyond that. Luminari has teamed up with non-profit organizations to give you amazing opportunities to get involved in your communities (like volunteer Board positions).
    We also offer our community access to exclusive networking nights, speaker series events, and CPA-geared content!
  8. What if my employer is on Luminari?

    Don’t fear! No one can search your profile on Luminari, so unless you plan on applying for a job at your own company through Luminari, you’re safe. Plus, since we always show you the company name, you won’t ever apply to your company by accident.
  9. How often do you send me jobs?

    It’s up to you! Right now we have three options for you to choose from:
    • Actively looking (we will send you all relevant jobs, volunteer & P/T opportunities, networking events and content)
    • Open to opportunities (periodic updates with jobs, volunteer & P/T opportunities, networking events and content)
    • Not interested (we will still send you great volunteer opportunities, networking events and exclusive content)
  10. What types of companies/roles do you have?

    Every company needs to hire CPAs, whether in a traditional role or not. We pride ourselves in getting a great diversity of those roles but most importantly, giving our community what they ask for.
  11. Will Luminari send my resume out to anyone?

    Only for the jobs that you specifically apply for. We would never send it out otherwise.
  12. Will I get to see the company names and salary range?

    Company names, always. For salary ranges, when a company is okay with publishing it, then yes. When they aren’t, we use the number you provide us to make sure we’re always in the range you’re looking for.
  13. Who can be on Luminari?

    CPAs, CPA candidates, and any other internationally designated accounting professionals are welcome! We love our growing community and welcome you to join if you think this is for you.
  14. Can I update my preferences after the sign-up?

    Absolutely. Everything you need is in your profile tab once you sign in.

    We believe in the less is more approach to hiring. By giving you better quality candidates, more consistently, so you don’t waste your time looking at all the rest. And part of our secret is accessing passive candidates, to give you an option outside of expensive recruiters.

  5. How do I review applicants? Applications?

    You get access to our brand-new dashboard system! With our one of a kind dashboard you can sort through resumes, take detailed notes, create custom candidate piles and more!
  6. Does Luminari screen applications?

    We sure do! Our algorithm matches you with qualified candidates only who are interested in your role.
  7. Can I search for members on Luminari?

    No, our community is completely anonymous until CPAs express interest in a position. Once they do, we’ll send them your way.
  8. Does Luminari notify candidates that I reject?

    Yes, we make it a point to make your experience as seamless as possible. It’s also important for us to let our community know what’s happening and keep everyone informed.
  9. How long does it take to receive applications?

    You’ll start receiving applications on your dashboard within the first few days of posting and continue to receive them during the entirety of the job posting.
  10. What is a job brief?

    A job brief is a concisely communicated, shareable, job description that makes up our job feed.
